What you'll do
At Miro, you’ll step into a Staff Design Engineer, Design Systems role where you raise the quality bar for the design system. You won’t just define what great looks like; you’ll turn that judgment into clear rules, patterns, and examples that designers and AI-assisted contributors can actually use. This is a design-first role with code as a strong sidekick: you’ll prototype ideas, test whether they feel right, and partner with engineering to build guardrails that keep AI-generated UI sharp and consistent. You’ll think in motion, spacing, presence, and timing, helping the canvas stay alive, fast, and unmistakably Miro.
Tasks
Hold and raise the quality bar for the design system- Translate interaction patterns, hierarchy rules, and spacing into clear guardrails
- Work with engineering to keep AI-generated UI consistent
- Apply token thinking to motion, easing, and spatial transitions
- Design multiplayer states like presence and cursors
- Document patterns, guidelines, and examples
- Build prototypes to test ideas quickly

What you’ll need
10+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or AI- 2-3 years operating at Staff or Principal level
- Comfortable with code to prototype and validate ideas
- Strong sense of taste and visual quality
- End-to-end understanding of product flows and context
- Experience with systems thinking and governance
- Fluency with AI tools and AI-driven product moments
